Vashi / Navi Mumbai: The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) and Builders’ Association of Navi Mumbai (BANM) will flag off their 20th Mega Property Exhibition tomorrow at Vashi, after a hiatus of three years, and they will be offering a lot more than all previous exhibitions, they claim.

The CREDAI-BANM 2022 Mega Property Exhibition is themed on “360 Degree Smart and Swachh City – Navi Mumbai” and will be held for four exciting days between 13 May and 16 May 2022.

Developers are putting their hopes on this exhibition as a sort of comeback event for many big and small developers from Navi Mumbai, Khopoli, and Karjat.

“We have been literally out of the picture first due to the issues pertaining to GST in the year 2019, followed by the covid-19 pandemic that had hit hard both the home buyers and developers. It had been hard three years for all but finally things seem to be turning in the right direction,” a spokesperson of BANM exclaimed.

“Home buyers will be literally spoiled for choice in this 20th mega property exhibition, for the variety of projects our partner developers will be offering to them,” he added.

Highlights of the CREDAI-BANM 20th Mega Property Exhibition:

  • More than 100 participating developers
  • Affordable properties starting at Rs. 20 Lakh
  • Premium properties up to Rs. 10 crores
  • Ready housing finance from partner banks and financial institutions
  • Daily luck draw prizes on spot booking
  • Areas between Airoli and Khopoli up to Karjat, to be showcased
  • Redevelopment projects by Arihant & Godrej  in Vashi) to be highlighted
  • Focus on Navi Mumbai as the ultimate 360 degree Smart and Swachh City
  • Vast offering of Affordable housing, Premium residences, Second Homes/Plots and Commercial properties
  • Developers expecting collective business of Rs 1000 crores through the exhibition

No electricity in sector 35 E, Kharghar, since 10 hours

Power was abruptly cut in several parts of sectors 34 and 35 a little after midnight without any prior information.

Kharghar / Panvel / Navi Mumbai: Residents of sectors 34 and 35 in Kharghar had to remain without electricity for hours after might night in the sweltering heat. The unscheduled and uninformed power cut took everyone by surprise as the MSEB had not informed about any such late night schedule.

“We had a power cut at around 12.26 am it was extremely hot. However, after a few phone calls to the MSEB, the power got restored around 12.47, pretty quick for MSEB standards, said a resident of Proviso Hill Park in sector 35 I.

MSEB technicians who were good enough to visit some of the societies identified it as a technical fault and got the power restored back.

However, not all societies were so lucky to get their power supply back so soon. Some societies like Blue Crest, located in sector 35 E, are yet to get their power supply resumed.

“We had a power cut around 12.30 am and are still without electricity. This is sheer irresponsibility on MSEB’s part as they never inform or even manage power cuts properly. Such is the pathetic state of service that we have to bear with at times,” said residents of Blue Crest.

MSEB officials are looking into the issue at the moment, which could be due to too much power load or faulty wires or equipment.

P.S. At the time of publishing this article, the society was still waiting for the power supply to be restored. We tried calling them at their given numbers but to no avail.

Once completed, the extended golf course will finally be tagged as an ‘International Golf Course’, as CIDCO had envisioned it to be.

Kharghar / Navi Mumbai / Panvel: The cherished dream of the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. (CIDCO) to bring international golf tournaments to Navi Mumbai is on the way to realisation. Work on extending the 9-hole Kharghar Valley Golf Course (KVGC) to an 18-hole golf course, suited to host international golf tournaments and championships is underway.

CIDCO recently tweeted a short video showing renowned director Rohit Shetty giving a short update on the significance and future prospects of the Kharghar Valley Golf Course, as it inches close to gaining international recognition.

CIDCO MD, Dr. Sanjay Mishra, is elated at the progress the KVGC is making as time progresses, and is hopeful of its transition into a golf course of international repute, attracting many commercial golf tournaments in future, and also boosting international tourism in the ‘City of the twenty first century’.

Highlights of the Kharghar Valley Golf Course

  • KVGC to have fairway of 710 yards, largest in the country
  • Course to run on a “Pay and Play” model with zero exclusive memberships
  • In-house academy to train aspiring young golfers
  • Provision of additional play area apart from golf
  • State of art country club with all modern facilities.

Muslim families across Navi Mumbai have commenced fasting for Ramadan from today, 3 April 2022, with great enthusiasm. This year, the holy month of Muslims will be observed sans any covid-19 restrictions as the state government has lifted all restrictions.

The holy month was started off with the first early morning “Sehri” of Ramadan and people are looking forward to the first “Iftar” in the evening.

This year, the iftars will see the congregation of both families and friends unlike the past two years.

Asma Shaikh, Kharghar resident, shares, “We look forward to a very enlightening month of Ramadan this year. There is a lot of excitement this year as we will be able to join in with our families and friends without any restrictions.”

Unlike the past two years, the muslim community of Navi Mumbai will be praying at mosques and visiting their friends and relatives for evening iftars.

Residents are set to celebrate the festivals with newfound freedom, post lockdown phase.

Navi Mumbai gears up for Gudi Padwa, Chaitra Navratri and Ramadan
The city Navi Mumbai will be celebrating Gudi Padwa on 2 April 2022.

Navi Mumbai residents are very excited to be celebrating Gudi Padwa tomorrow, 2 April 2022, as this would be the first time in two years that the city would be free of covid-19 restrictions.  Needles to say the there will be a festive vibe not seen in the past two years.

The state government has already lifted all covid-19 restrictions, surprisingly the wearing of masks too, which we hope, doesn’t turn out to be a hasty decision in future.

Nevertheless, residents couldn’t have asked for more, as they are readying themselves to celebrate Gudi Padwa in Navi Mumbai in a grand way.

Sohan Kulkarni, a Kharghar resident, shares, “We will be having a grand celebration this time as there won’t be any restrictions. Last year, we could not meet our relatives and friends on Gudi Padwa, but this time around it will be a huge get-together.”

The nine day celebrations of Chaitra Navratri will also start from tomorrow and people are all the more excited to be celebrating it this year. The nine days of fasting and visiting the Durga temples will be as vibrant as before.

Chhaya Sharma, a Vashi resident, shares, “We are so excited by the thought that we would be able to freely visit the temples this Navratri just like we used to do. It will be a nostalgic festival for all.”

The Muslim community of Navi Mumbai will be observing Ramadan, which is likely to commence from 3 April. The month long fasting rituals and the evening iftars will be different this time.

Asma Shaikh, a Kharghar resident, shares, “Our iftars had been only family affairs since the last two years so we are looking forward to some great ones this year with our relatives, friends and neighbours.”

Navi Mumbai will be giving out a vibrant festive vibe from tomorrow and we just hope that people take it slow and maintain the purity of the festivities by not going overboard in any manner.

LocalPress. In wishes all the residents of Navi Mumbai a Very Happy Gudi Padwa, Chaitra Navratri and Ramadan!

As the cost of living crisis deepens, you may be assessing your regular monthly outgoings and looking for things you can cut back on. If you are lucky enough to be a homeowner, your biggest monthly expense is likely to be your mortgage.

But will your lender allow you to reduce your payments if you explain that you are struggling? And how will that affect your credit record? Similarly, if you have life insurance or a pension, can you take a break from your payments, and what will the consequences be?
