Six APMC public loos default on water bills of Rs 38 lakh to NMMC for the last six years

Navi Mumbai / Vashi-APMC: City activists are shocked and angry to learn that six public loos located in APMC, Vashi, have not paid a single penny till date towards their collective billing of Rs 38 lakh for the last six years. On top of that, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) seems to be either oblivious or not interested in recovering the dues from the defaulting contractors.

Shockingly, nearly 25,000 litres is utilized on a daily basis for free, even during water cuts in the city. Also, people have to pay as much as Rs 5 for using these toilets.

Officials informed that they would be looking into the pending dues as soon as possible and taking necessary action.
