Navi Mumbai / PCMC: Two metro trains, partially assembled, have landed in Mumbai Port Trust, from China. Preparations are underway to ferry them to Taloja shortly.

As per reports, another three rakes would be arriving May and three more by August. In all, eight trains will be running on the metro line between Belapur and Pendhar, on a 11.1-km stretch.

The trial runs may begin when the contractors had over the station to CIDCO, probably by the end of this yeart.

The CIDCO MD and Vice-chairman informed that  each rake would be having a three-coach-formation: Two driving motor cars-one in the front and the other in the rear, while the middle coach will be a trailer car.

The Metro Project engineer informed that the kits would be assembled at the depot, followed by individual coach testing and integrated testing. After the station is handed over, the trains will be rolled out for testing the tracks andother safety inspections.

China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation of Zhuzhou has manufactured the coaches that will run on the Navi Mumbai Metro line.
