Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai on Wednesday, 15 Jan 2025, a significant development spearheaded by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). The expansive nine-acre complex includes a temple dedicated to multiple deities, a Vedic education centre, an auditorium, and a healing centre, with plans for future museums.

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister also participated in the temple’s puja and spoke of the importance of ISKCON’s contribution to spreading knowledge and devotion. He expressed his gratitude to the organisation’s saints and priests for their dedication in bringing the project to fruition.

In his address, PM Modi highlighted India’s living culture and the central role of spirituality in the nation’s ethos. He emphasised that the spirit of service, which lies at the heart of all religious scriptures, is mirrored in the government’s efforts to serve the nation. The temple, he said, aims to foster peace, universal brotherhood, and harmony through Vedic teachings, reflecting the ideals of service and dedication.

Several eminent personalities attended the inauguration event alonsg with Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde, governor CP Radhakrishnan, and actor-turned-MP Hema Malini.
