There has been sharp increase in positive cases post Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Navi Mumbai: As citizens and health authorities ready themselves to tackle the omicron threat, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has informed about the sharp increase in the number of active covid-19 cases in city. It has been learnt that daily cases have gone up by more than ten times and active cases by three times, in just about the last two weeks.

Civic chief, Abhijit Bangar, has expressed his concern and has requested citizens to take more precautions than ever.

As cases continue to scale up, the NMMC is set to conduct test on a much wider scale throughout the city and also bring in more sanctions.

As per information, the number of covid-19 patients in the city was close to 1200 on 31st December 2021.
