The NMMC had recorded a total of 1072 new cases in major nodes of the city.

New covid-19 cases continue to surge in Navi Mumbai post December celebrations.

Navi Mumbai: The Belapur node recorded 228 new cases of covid-19, the highest in the city, on Tuesday, 4th January 2022. The number of new infections in the rest of the populated nodes too was near about the same.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) shared the covid-19 numbers as follows:

Belapur -228, Nerul-166, Vashi-143, Koperkhairane-114, Ghansoli-163, Airoli– 105, Turbhe-97 and Digha-36.

Mahendra Konde, PRO, NMMC, informed, “Navi Mumbai recorded a high number of new covid-19 cases on Tuesday, with 1071. It looks like the virus is on a surge post festive season but we are prepared to tackle it.”

As per information, 440 patients are housed in the Vashi Exhibition Centre covid centre, 94 in the Nerul Covid Care Centre in sector 9, and 18 at the MGM Sanpada Covid Health Centre.

Also, 1247 positive individuals have been kept under home isolation.
