Navi Mumbai: With the monsoons just around the corner the administration has geared up to prepare for the rains. The NMMC commissioner, Ramaswami N, has asked all ward officers to ensure that the pre-monsoon gutter cleaning work gets completed before 25th May and nothing remains to be done during the rainy season.
Civic officials informed that about 55% of the city drains had been manually cleaned in all the eight wards. Further, inspections had already been started to ensure all desilting work completed before time.
Further, nodal officers have been directed to ensure post desilting, the filth is taken away within 2-3 days so that it brings no inconvenience to residents. At present 91 major gutters in various wards are being cleaned
