On a broader level, Navi Mumbai ranked as the 4th cleanest city in the country, with Indore retaining the number one rank for the 5th consecutive year
Navi Mumbai: It is a proud moment for both residents and the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), as the city claimed the number one spot as the “Cleanest Big City”, among all cities participating under the 10-40 lakh population category, in the Swachh Survekshan 2021, .
However, in the overall ranking, Navi Mumbai was adjudged as the 4th cleanest city in the country, dropping down from the 3rd spot.
Indore retained the number one spot for the fifth consecutive year, Surat came second, Vijayawada – third, Pune – fifth, Raipur – sixth, Bhopal – seventh, Vadodara – eight, Visakhapatnam – ninth and Ahmedabad – tenth.
NMMC commissioner, Abhijit Bangar, thanked the residents of Navi Mumbai for their contribution towards the accomplishment of such feat.
Bangar also thanked all NMMC officials for their efforts at planning and implementing all cleanliness programmes throughout the year.
